The Arona Gran overlooks a little pebble beach in Los Cristianos and offers up views of the harbour. What’s more, the resort’s main sandy stretch is just a ten-minute walk along a coastal promenade. It runs through to Playa De Las Americas, and there are cafés and shops along the way.

You’ll find two pools at the hotel, On the food front, breakfasts and dinners are help-yourself affairs, while lunch is taken at the poolside à la carte restaurant, which has a salad bar and a grill.

Bedrooms here are being refurbished for Summer 2012, so expect new additions like modern soft furnishings and flatscreen TVs. If you really want to indulge, upgrade to a sea-facing room.
