This resort, formerly called the Sandos Papagayo Arena, is big, bright and bursting with things to do. Take the pool scene. You’ve got three to choose from, with a poolside bar making drinks o’clock dead easy. You can also add a daytime and evening entertainment programme to the mix, as well as sports like tennis, mini-golf and archery. What’s more, kids will love it. They’ve got two of their own pools, mini-discos and a hotel-run club – perfect for making new mates and giving you a bit of ‘me’ time. And as for location, you’re looking at a six or seven-minute walk to the beach, whereas the closest restaurants in Playa Blanca are about an hour’s walk away, don’t worry – there’s 5 restaurants back at base.
