The Central Hotel Panama was built almost 150 years ago in the centre of the city of Panama, opposite the beautiful Plaza de la Independencia, in the Old Town. It opened its doors in 1874, and was the first hotel of the country. Soon it became the favorite site of intrepid travellers. Clients include US President Theodore Roosevelt and Count Ferdinand of Lesseps. In the century XX, the hotel already was recognized as the best in Panama for its high level of European and American services. His fame swept across the Western Hemisphere. With its French influenced design, the Central Hotel Panama is one of the many buildings that today highlight the historical and architectural importance of the Old Town, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Recently it was renewed, very meticulously, preserving the entirety of its original facade and structure. Visiting it gives a sense of historical luxury that is worth experiencing firsthand. Book your stay and be part of the history of the first hotel in Panama.
