The hotel is located in Barahona, in the heart of the Caribbean, in an isolated and intact region in the southwest of the Dominican Republic, adjacent to the only biosphere reserve in the country. This private holiday retreat remains under family ownership, providing 12 rooms in 'cabana' style with dramatic views all around. Renovated in 2010, the eco hotel offers a lobby, restaurant and WLAN Internet access.
Each room is 32 square metres and features a private balcony, individually regulated air conditioning, a ceiling fan, private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, wine fridge, clock radio, iPod dock and tropical and modern furniture. They are also fitted with double or king-size beds.
Guests may make use of the outdoor swimming pool, parasols and surfing and biking facilities.
Being consistent with the practice of supporting the ecological environment and running operations using local resources, the hotel's menu is not only prepared and served by staff from the area but is made with fresh local ingredients. Fish and seafood are brought daily from a small town nearby, Bahoruco. Breakfast is served each morning.
